Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a good editor?

Yes. This is my favourite question.

What have you worked on previously?

Some incredible projects featured on this website.

Most of my experience is long-form non-scripted

(feature length docs, tv-docs, branded docs, doc-series)

and short format scripted work (short films, music videos)

You don't have my exact project on your resume already. Are you going to be able to cut what I imagine?

With many years in the industry chances are I'll be able to show previous experience in the genre/style. Do ask.

You have a non-Anglo name. I hesitate to trust you.

I have lived in Toronto, Canada for 10 years and worked in this industry since 2011, I know the culture and landscape very well by now.

I don't think I can afford a senior editor.

Junior at heart.

Some of the most enjoyable projects I have worked on have been low budget so if I can make it work there is always the desire to get involved in passion projects.

How do you like to work?

I work really well independently and need minimal supervision to stay on goal.

After creative discussions I watch all the footage and make a rough cut with all the fresh ideas from that (Due to schedules shrinking this workflow is for feature work more than TV)

Trust the process - the results have always been amazing and full of discoveries for everyone.

I enjoy mutual respect and trust so we can do our best work together. I like clear communication and friendly tone above all else, the workflow will be figured out based on the project.

Can you read my mind or just the script?

I go back and forth until I find something useful.
